Renée Fleming stars as Clarissa Vaughan in The Hours at The Metropolitan Opera from May 5-31.

Fleming is a world-renowned opera performer known for her classical soprano voice. She is an 18-time Grammy Award nominee and five-time winner, and her other accolades include National Medal of Arts and a 2023 Kennedy Center Honors. Fleming is also the only classical singer to have performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

Fleming has had a long career at the Met Opera, with her major roles including Violetta in La Traviata, Desdemona in Otello, and The Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro. In 2023, she starred as Clarissa in the world-premiere opera adaptation of Michael Cunningham’s novel and the Oscar-winning film The Hours. She reprises her role in 2024 opposite her two original co-stars: Kelli O'Hara and Joyce DiDonato.
