Phillip Boykin

Phillip Boykin stars as King Balthazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater from December 16, 2025 to January 4, 2026.

Boykin is best known for his Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award-nominated performance as Crown in The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, in which he made his Broadway debut. He also played Tonton Julian in Once on This Island (Grammy Award nomination) and played multiple stints as Hades in Hadestown.

Onscreen credits include the films Freedom and Top Five.
