Justin Cooley stars as Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee off Broadway at New World Stages. He will take a leave of absence from June 24 to July 22, 2026.
Cooley is known for starring as Seth in the musical Kimberly Akimbo, originating the role in the Off-Broadway world premiere at Atlantic Theater Company before moving with the production to Broadway. Across the two runs, Cooley was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical as well as Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Antony Awards, and he won Theatre World, ABA Clarence Derwent, and Clive Barnes Awards.
