Jon Cryer stars as Vice Principal Douglas Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee off Broadway at New World Stages from May 11, 2026.
Cryer is an actor and comedian best known for his starring roles as Alan Harper on the sitcom Two and a Half Men (two Emmy Awards), Duckie in the movie Pretty in Pink, and Lex Luthor on Supergirl and other DC Comics shows.
He previously got his start in theatre, appearing in Brighton Beach Memoirs and Torch Song Trilogy on Broadway. His other NYC theatre credits include Jules Feiffer’s Carnal Knowledge, David Baird’s 900 Oneonta, and a concert staging of Stephen Sondheim’s Company at Lincoln Center.
