Will The Kid Stays in the Picture transfer to Broadway?

According to the New York Post, the stage adaptation of Hollywood mogul Robert Evans' autobiography and documentary The Kid Stays in the Picture may well become a late addition to the current 2016-2017 Broadway season.

Written by Evans and directed by Simon McBurney, the play is set to officially open at London's Royal Court Theatre on March 15, and continue its limited engagement through to April 8 at the venue. If the production receives positive reviews, producer Barbara Broccoli is reportedly interested in moving it to Broadway before the Tony Awards eligibility cut-off date of April 27, eyeing the Booth Theatre as a possible home.

The Kid Stays in the Picture is the story of Robert Evans - charting his journey from childhood to his rise as one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood, with an impressive back catalogue of films which include "The Godfather," "Chinatown," "Marathon Man," and "The Out-of-Towners."'

The London cast features Danny Huston as Robert Evans alongside Thomas Arnold, Heather Burns, Christian Camargo, Max Casella, Clint Dyer, Ajay Naidu and Madeleine Potter.

Producer Barbara Broccoli is also considered as one of the most successful Hollywood producers, having produced the James Bond 007 franchise movies since 1987.

Director Simon McBurney was recently seen on Broadway in the aural 3D adventure The Encounter at the Golden Theatre.
