The Canterbury Tales Remixed extends again

The Canterbury Tales Remixed, written and performed by Canadian hip-hop artist Baba Brinkman, with music and turn-tablism by Jamie Simmonds, and direction by Darren Lee Cole, has announced a second extension, this time by one week, and will now play through to 5 Feb 2012.

The show opened at the SoHo Playhouse on 4 Dec 2011, following previews from 23 Nov 2011, and was originally scheduled to close on 8 Jan 2012.

In The Canterbury Tales Remixed Geoffrey Chaucer's timeless Canterbury Tales comes to life in a performance linking today's hip-hop lyrics with the greatest stories ever told.

Framed by re-imaginings of the epic poems Gilgamesh and Beowulf. These ancient Tales are infused with lust, betrayal, infidelity, greed, jealousy, ambition, and the endless struggles between men and women seeking happiness.

Baba Brinkman brings you a theatrical experience and storytelling, tracing a thread from Chaucer's venal Merchant and sensuous Wife of Bath to the muscular heroes of ancient lore, so similar to today's hip hop stars in their perpetual quest for glory.
