The Beast in the Jungle adds a second extension at Vineyard Theatre

Susan Stroman's The Beast in the Jungle will now play its final performance on June 24, 2018.

Vineyard Theatre has announced a second 1-week extension for its current world premiere of The Beast in the Jungle - a new "dance play" by the creative minds behind The Scottsboro Boys, features music by four-time Tony Award winner John Kander, a book by Tony Award nominee David Thompson and direction & choreography by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The Beast in the Jungle began previews off-Broadway on May 4, 2018, and officially opened on May 23 (read our 4* review). The limited engagement was originally intended to run through to June 10, 2018, before an initial extension through to June 17, and will now run through to June 24 at the Vineyard Theatre.

Synopsis: "Adapted from Henry James' classic 1903 novella, The Beast in the Jungle is the story of John Marcher, a man haunted by personal demons, whose great yet unfulfilled love affair with an unforgettable woman spans decades and continents.​ With a ​waltz-inspired​ ​instrumental score, and dazzling choreography that traverses the worlds of ballet and contemporary dance, this powerful and romantic tale of love and loss reunites the remarkable creative team behind The Vineyard's acclaimed The Scottsboro Boys."

The cast of The Beast in the Jungle includes Tony Award nominee Tony YazbeckIrina Dvorovenko, a former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer, Tony Award nominee Peter FriedmanMaira Barriga, Teagle F. Bougere, ​Elizabeth Dugas, Leah Hofmann, Naomi Kakuk, Brittany Marcin Maschmeyer, and Erin Moore.

The creative team also features music supervision by David Loud, scenic & costume design by Michael Curry, lighting design by Ben Stanton, and sound design by Peter Hylenski.

The Beast in the Jungle Tickets are available now for performances through to June 24, 2018.
