Audible Inc., in association with New York Theatre Workshop, presents the world premiere of Proof of Love, written by Chisa Hutchinson and directed by Jade King Carroll, which begins previews at off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre on May 7, 2019, ahead of an official opening on May 14 and a limited engagement through to June 16, 2019.

Synopsis: "Constance thought she had a happy life and a loving husband. Suddenly, a tragic accident splinters her upper-class black family—and forces Constance to face uncomfortable truths about her marriage and herself. Proof of Love is an explosive, funny, and moving new one-woman play."

Suzzanne Douglas will star as Constance, marking her first return to the New York stage since starring opposite Sting in the 1989 revival of Bertolt Brecht & Kurt Weill's 3 Penny Opera. Her notable regional credits include American Son at George Street Playhouse, 42nd Street at Chicago's Drury Lane Theater, and Les Liaisons Dangereuses at Baltimore's Center Stage Theater. She is perhaps best known for her '90's TV role as Jerri Peterson on "The Parent 'Hood" and her film credits include "School of Rock," "How Stella Got Her Groove Back,""Jason's Lyric," "The Inkwell," and "Tap," among others.

As with all Audible productions, Proof of Love will be recorded and presevred as an audio play for future generations.

Additional creative team members will be announced shortly.
