Who's ready for the "historemix"? London's musical phenomenon SIX is officially heading to Broadway and is set to begin previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (current home of Waitress) on February 13, 2020, ahead of an official opening on March 12.

Synopsis: "Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, SIX the wives of Henry VIII take the mic to reclaim their identities out of the shadow of their infamous spouse—remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an exuberant celebration of 21st century girl power."

SIX is written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss and co-directed by Ms. Moss and Jamie Armitage.

Marlow and Moss commented: "We are UNBELIEVABLY excited about SIX coming to Broadway, like actually what is going on! We are so grateful that we get to share our show with an even wider audience, especially somewhere as iconic as the home of musical theatre - BROADWAY BABY!! The whole team across the pond are ridiculously amazing, and we can't wait to share the show with you - NYC, thanks for having us!!!"

Marlow and Moss came up with the concept of SIX in early 2017 while they were students at Cambridge University. They were just 24 and 25 years old, respectively. SIX was first presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later on in 2017 (as Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society's submission) as a one-month-run, but was picked up by producers in the UK and staged at the Norwich Playhouse (and remounted at the Edinburgh Fringe) in 2018. The show made its London debut at the Arts Theatre following this with a limited engagement and a UK tour throughout the fall of 2018, before returning to the Arts Theatre in January 2019 for an open-ended run, where it is currently playing to full houses. A second UK tour is set to launch in October 2019.

SIX staged its North American premiere in May of this year at Chicago's Shakespeare Theater with the record-breaking run coming to a close this Sunday, August 4. The production is also set to play limited engagements at American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) in Cambridge, MA, the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, AB, Canada, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, MN, prior to the Broadway premiere.

The London production earned a total of five Olivier Award nominations earlier this year, including "Best New Musical" and it currently boasts the second-highest streaming cast recording in the world (with an average of approx. 300,000 streams per day).

The creative team behind SIX features choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, orchestrations by Tom Curran, music supervision & vocal arrangements by Joe Beighton, set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, and sound design by Paul Gatehouse.

SIX is produced on Broadway by Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Kevin McCollum, and casting for the Broadway premiere will be announced at a later date.
