Room Service closes early on 8 Apr 2007

The Peccadillo Theater Company's production of Room Service, a comedy by John Murray and Allen Boretz, closes early on 8 April 2007. The comedy had recently announced that it would play through to Soho Playhouse 28 Apr 2007. The production will have played 12 previews 158 regular performances when it closes.

Room Service opened at the Soho Playhouse on 28 Nov 2006, following previews from 18 Nov. The comedy had an earlier run last year at the Bank Street Theater from 6 Jul - 5 Aug 2006 where it played 20 performances.

A classic door-slamming farce, Room Service centers around a theatrical producer of questionable morals, holed up in a Times Square hotel with nineteen starving actors who attempts to rehearse and find a backer for his new show. Hoping to forestall eviction, he convinces the shows gullible young playwright to fake his own death.

Meanwhile, an emissary from one of the countrys wealthiest businessmen turns up, offering to invest in the show; that is, until he discovers the hotel doctor bound and gagged in the bathroom. The situation goes from bad to worse as the bill-collecting manager of the hotel threatens to have the entire show confiscated by the sheriff on opening night!

Directed by Dan Wackerman, Room Service features David Edwards, Jerry Coyle, Fred Berman, Dale Carman, Sterling Coyne, Scott Evans, Blythe Gruda, Kim Rachelle Harris, Robert OGorman, Louis Michael Sacco, Ray Thorne and Dennis Witt.

Set design is by Chris Jones, with costumes by Gail Cooper-Hecht and lighting by Jeffrey Salzberg.
