Tickets are now on sale for the New York premiere of Jim Steinman's Bat Out of Hell: The Musical at New York City Center this summer. Instead of the previously announced 8-week limited engagement, the apocalyptic tuner, which features iconic Meatloaf hits, will now play a limited six-week engagement beginning on August 1, officially opening on August 8 and playing through September 8, 2019 at City Center's Mainstage.

Synopsis: "Join the eternally young Strat and his wild gang, The Lost, as they roam the streets of Obsidian, a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, ruled by the wicked and tyrannical Falco. When Strat first sets eyes on Falco's daughter, Raven, who has been locked away in the palace towers, he sets out to rescue her from her evil father's clutches in a full throttle tale of teenage love, youthful rebellion and living the rock and roll dream."

Casting for the role of Sloane will be announced shortly.

Under the direction of Jay Scheib, the creative team features choreography by Emma Portner and Xena Gusthart, musical direction by Ryan Cantwell, musical supervision & additional arrangements by Michael Reed, orchestrations by Steve Sidwell, scenic design by Jon Bausor, costume design by Jon Bausor & Meentje Nielsen, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen, and video design by Finn Ross.

Bat Out of Hell: The Musical premiered in Manchester, England, in February 2017, before heading to the London Coliseum in June 2017 and then onto Toronto, Canada in October 2017. It returned to the West End for an open-ended engagement at the Dominion Theatre from April 2018, which would eventually play its final West End performance on January 5, 2019. The North American Tour kicked off with a return engagement in Toronto in the fall of 2018.

Bat Out of Hell: The Musical is produced by Michael Cohl, Tony Smith, Bob Broderick, Lorne Gertner, and David Sonenberg.
