MTC announces additional casting for Fool For Love

The Manhattan Theatre Club has announced additional casting for its first Broadway production of the 2015-2016 season - The Williamstown Theatre Festival production of Sam Shepard's Fool For Love, which officially opens at the Samuel J. Friedman on 8 October 2015, following previews from 15 September, and plays a limited engagement through to 6 December 2015.

Joining previously announced Tony Award winner Nina Arianda (May) and Sam Rockwell (Eddie) will be Emmy Award winner Tom Pelphrey (Martin) and Tony Award nominee Gordon Joseph Weiss (The Old Man).

The creative team behind Fool For Love has also been announced and features scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costime design by Anita Yavich, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Ryan Rumery, and movement and fight direction by David S. Leong.

Directed by Daniel Aukin, this production will mark the Broadway debut of Mr. Shepard's 1982 play.

Synopsis: "Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Beaten down by ill-fated love and a ruthless struggle for identity, can they ultimately live with, or without, each other?"

Tom Pelphrey previously appeared on Broadway as Mickey Deans in the 2012 production of 'End of the Rainbow.'

Gordon Joseph Weiss earned a Tony nomination in 1989 for 'Ghetto.' His other Broadway credits include 'Sly Fox,' 'The Life,' 'Jelly's Last Jam,' 'The Visit,' 'Raggedy Ann,' 'King of Hearts,' 'Goodtime Charley,' and 'Jumpers.'
