‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ to return to Broadway from October 2021, starring Rob McClure

Performances will continue at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre from Oct. 21, 2021.

The Broadway premiere of Mrs. Doubtfire will resume its run this fall. Mrs. Doubtfire will continue previews at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre from Oct. 21, 2021, with an opening night on Dec. 5, 2021. Find out more about Mrs. Doubtfire tickets on Broadway here.

The Tony Award-nominated actor Rob McClure will return to the title role in the Broadway production. Previously, McClure has starred in Beetlejuice, Something Rotten! and Avenue Q.

Based on the 1993 comedy starring Robin Williams, Mrs. Doubtfire follows out-of-work actor Daniel Hillard disguise himself as a Scottish nanny to stay in his childrens lives. Mrs. Doubtfire features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell, with music and lyrics by by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick and direction by Jerry Zaks.

Mrs. Doubtfire received its world premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre from Nov. 26 - Dec. 29, 2019, ahead of a Broadway transfer to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in March 2020. The production ran for three performances on Broadway, before it was forced to close.

Further casting for Mrs. Doubtfire is to be announced. Prior to theatres closing in March 2020, the cast included Jenn Gambatese (as Miranda Hillard), Brad Oscar (as Frank Hillard), Analise Scarpaci (as Lydia Hillard), Jake Ryan Flynn (as Christopher Hillard), Avery Sell (as Natalie Hillard), J. Harrison Ghee (as Andre), Mark Evans (as Stuart Dunmeyer), Charity Angél Dawson (as Wanda Sellner), and Peter Bartlett (as Mr. Jolly).

Mrs. Doubtfire is at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre from Oct. 21, 2021.
