History has its eyes on Michael Luwoye... Producer Jeffrey Seller has announced that the Hamilton alum will return to the smash hit musical and this time assume the title role full-time in the Broadway production. Mr. Luwoye has previously played the role on the National Tour and also acted as current leading man Javier Muñoz's alternate on Broadway. He made history by becoming the first man to have ever played both Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr on Broadway, even playing Hamilton at a matinee performance and Burr at the evening performance on the very same day. He will assume the role from January 16, 2018, with Mr. Muñoz playing his final performance on January 14 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

The current cast of Hamilton includes Javier Muñoz (as Alexander Hamilton), Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker (as Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (as Eliza Hamilton), Mandy Gonzalez (as Angelica Schuyler), Bryan Terrell Clark (as George Washington), Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart (as Marques de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Anthony Lee Medina (as John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton), J. Quinton Johnson (as James Madison/Hercules Mulligan), Alysha Deslorieux (as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), and Tony Award nominee Euan Morton (as King George).

The Broadway production of Hamilton officially opened on August 6, 2015, following previews from July 13.

Hamilton features a book, music, and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize and three-time Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow.

Synopsis: "Hamilton is a new musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, Hamilton is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become."

Under the direction of Thomas Kail, the creative team features music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

Hamilton is produced on Broadway by The Public Theater, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman.

Hamilton Tickets are available now for performances through to August 19, 2018.
