Lincoln Center Theater presents the LCT3 world premiere production of new musical In the Green, written by and starring Grace McLean and directed by Lee Sunday Evans, which begins previews at the Claire Tow Theater on June 8, 2019, ahead of an official opening on June 27 and a limited engagement through to August 4, 2019.

Synopsis: "In the Green tells the origin story of one of Medieval history's most powerful and creative women: Hildegard von Bingen. Before she became a healer, a composer, an exorcist, and finally a saint, she was a little girl locked in a cell with her mentor, Jutta. In the Green is the tale of two women and the journey that leads one to embrace death, and the other to celebrate the beauty and blemishes of a fully lived life."

Joining Ms. McLean (as Jutta) on stage and all playing the role of Hildegard von Bingen are Rachael Duddy, Ashley Pérez Flanagan, and Hannah Whitney. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The creative team behind In the Green features scenic design by Kristen Robinson, costume design by Oana Botez, lighting design by Barbara Samuels, sound design by Nicholas Pope, and orchestrations by Grace McLean and Kris Kukul, with music supervision by Kris Kukul.

In the Green marks the theatrical writing debut for Grace McLean, who is perhaps best known for originating the role of Marya D in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 at Ars Nova, again off-Broadway and finally in the Broadway premiere. Other off-Broadway acting credits include MCC Theater's Alice By Heart and Vineyard Theatre's Brooklynite.

The current LCT3 world premiere production of Marys Seacole, starring Quincy Tyler Bernstine, is currently running at the Claire Tow Theater until April 7, 2019, and Nantucket Sleigh Ride, starring John Larroquette, continues at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater through to May 5, 2019. At Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater, the acclaimed Broadway revival of My Fair Lady is currently booking through to September 15, 2019.
