Second Stage Theater has announced that Tony Award winner Jane Alexander and Emmy Award winner James Cromwell will star in Grand Horizons at the Hayes Theater. Grand Horizons is directed by Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman as part of the previously announced Broadway season. Previews begin at the Hayes Theater on December 20, 2019, ahead of an official opening on January 23 and a limited engagement through March 1, 2020.

Having starred in over 100 plays throughout her career, Jane Alexander will play Nancy in Grand Horizons. She has won a Tony Award for her performance in The Great White Hope, as well as nominations for The Night of the Iguana as Maxine Faulk and Honour as Honor. On screen, she has recently appeared in Elementary, The Good Wife and The Blacklist.

James Cromwell will play Bill in Grand Horizons. His theatre credits include playing Rupert Murdoch in Rupert at Theatre Royal in Sydney, as well as American productions of The Invention of Love in San Francisco, The Iceman Cometh and Waiting for Godot. On television, he has appeared in American Horror Story: Asylum and films including I, Robot and The Green Mile.

The cast of Grand Horizons also stars Priscilla Lopez (as Carla), Maulik Pancholy (as Tommy), Ashley Park (as Jess), Thomas Sadoski (as Ben) and Michael Urie (as Brian).

Synopsis: "Bill and Nancy have spent fifty full years as husband and wife. They practically breathe in unison, and can anticipate each other's every sigh, snore and sneeze. But just as they settle comfortably into their new home in Grand Horizons, the unthinkable happens: Nancy suddenly wants out. As their two adult sons struggle to cope with the shocking news, they are forced to question everything they assumed about the people they thought they knew best. By turns funny, shocking and painfully honest, Grand Horizons explores a family turned upside-down and takes an intimate look at the wild, unpredictable, and enduring nature of love."

The creative team behind Grand Horizons includes scenic & costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Palmer Hefferan.

Grand Horizons is co-commissioned by Williamstown Theatre Festival and Second Stage Theater.
