James Vincent Meredith to join cast of 'The Minutes' on Broadway

Meredith will join the cast June 25.

James Vincent Meredith is set to join the Broadway cast of The Minutes for its final four weeks of Broadway performances. He replaces K. Todd Freeman in the role of Mr. Blake beginning June 25.

Meredith first played the role of Mr. Blake in the 2017 world-premiere production of The Minutes at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Meredith was just seen on Broadway as George Antrobus in The Skin of Our Teeth, and his other Broadway credits include Superior Donuts and The Book of Mormon.

The Minutes, written by and starring Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts, is set at a council meeting in the town of Big Cherry, which keeps its history secret and legends sacred. When a meeting attendee innocently asks what he missed the previous week, his questions end up unearthing the town's dark past.

In addition to Meredith and Letts, the cast also includes Ian Barford, Blair Brown, Cliff Chamberlain, Danny McCarthy, Jessie Mueller, Sally Murphy, Austin Pendleton, Noah Reid, and Jeff Still.

The show was a Best Play Tony nominee and runs at Studio 54 through July 10.
