Chick Flick the Musical sets off-Broadway closing date

Suzy Conn's musical comedy will play its final performance at Westside Theatre Upstairs on March 16, 2019.

Broadway Venture Capital Fund has now posted a closing notice for the off-Broadway production of Chick Flick the Musical, which features a book, music & lyrics by Suzy Conn and began preview performances at Westside Theatre Upstairs on February 21, 2019, ahead of an official opening on March 7. Upon closing, the production will have played a total of 11 previews and 12 regular performances.

Synopsis: "Chick Flick the Musical invites you to join Karen, Dawn, Sheila, and Meg as they get together to unwind, watch a chick flick, and play their favorite drinking game. As the festivities proceed and the tequila flows, can the power of meet cutes and makeover montages save the day as relationship drama and career crises bubble to the surface? Celebrating the healing power of sisterhood, laughter, and life lessons from the movies we know and love, Chick Flick the Musical is ultimately about life's greatest love story: friendship."

Chick Flick the Musical is directed by David Ruttura and choreographed by Sarah O'Gleby.

The cast includes (in alphabetical order) Sharon Catherine Brown (as Karen), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (as Sheila), Carla Duren (as Meg), and Megan Sikora (as Dawn), with Jillian Louis and Madison Stratton serving as Standbys.

Ms. Brown's previous Broadway credits include Effie White in Dreamgirls and The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and she was most recently seen on Broadway in Head Over Heels. Ms. Chambers has previously been seen on the Great White Way in Lysistrata JonesLegally Blonde, and Hairspray. Ms. Duren also appeared in the Broadway production of Hairspray, as well as 110 in the Shade. And Ms. Sikora's many Broadway credits include Holiday InnThe NanceHow to Succeed in Business Without Really TryingPromises, PromisesCurtainsDracula the MusicalWonderful TownThoroughly Modern Millie42nd Street, and Wicked.

The creative team behind the musical comedy features scenic design by Jason Sherwood, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, costume design by Suzy Benzinger, and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald. Orchestrations and arrangements are by Matt Castle and Frank Galgano, with Mr. Castle also serving as musical director.

Chick Flick the Musical Tickets are available now for performances through to March 16, 2019.
