Mask-wearing will be optional at all Broadway shows beginning July 1, according to a release from the Broadway League, which oversees all 41 Broadway theatres. The statement reads further, "Audience members are still encouraged to wear masks in theatres."

The policy will be evaluated monthly, and mask-wearing protocols for August will be set in mid-July.

Proof of vaccination is also no longer required at Broadway theatres; that requirement was lifted in May.

There are nearly 30 Broadway shows running this summer. Read more details about Covid safety protocols at current Broadway shows, and Broadway Covid protocols for kids.
