Atlantic For Kids presents Last Stop on Market Street, a Hip Hop musical

Last Stop on Market Street runs at the Linda Gross Theater from March 23 to April 13, 2019.

Following last fall's production of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant PeachAtlantic Theater Company presents its second and final Atlantic For Kids production of the 2018-2019 off-Broadway season. Last Stop on Market Street, a Hip Hop musical, will play the Linda Gross Theater on Saturday and Sunday mornings (at 10:30am) from March 23 through to April 13, 2019. There will also be a 5:30pm performance on Sunday, March 31.

Last Stop on Market Street is written by Matt de la Peña and illustrated by Christian Robinson. The stage adaptation is by Cheryl L. West and features music & lyrics by Lamont Dozier & Paris Ray Dozier.

Synopsis: "Young CJ is reluctantly staying with his Nana, in a world considerably different from the one he's used to. Guided by his veritable force-of-nature Nana, CJ travels a little closer to his roots and sees that things are not always what they seem. Last Stop on Market Street is a hip-hoppin', heart-thumpin', toe-tappin' musical joy ride about finding beauty in everyday city life and is based on the multi award-winning picture book of the same name!"

The Atlantic For Kids production is directed by David Mendizábal and choreographed by nicHi douglas.

Casting and further creative team information will be announced shortly.

Last Stop on Market Street was originally co-commissioned and produced by the Children's Theatre Company and Chicago Children's Theatre.
