Ari Graynor, Frank Wood & more to star in Manhattan Theatre Club's The Best We Could

The world premiere of Emily Feldman's The Best We Could (a family tragedy) begins performances at New York City Center on May 5, 2020.

Manhattan Theatre Club has now confirmed casting for its previously announced world premiere production of Emily Feldman's The Best We Could (a family tragedy), directed by Daniel Aukin.

The cast is set to include Gabby Beans, Ari Graynor, Howard W. Overshown, Constance Shulman, and Tony Award winner Frank Wood.

Synopsis: "The Best We Could is a witty, wise, and moving tale about a father-daughter cross-country road trip that veers off course when family ties collide with the values of a changing culture."

The newly announced creative team features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Brenda Abbandandolo, lighting design Matt Frey, and sound design by Kate Marvin.

The production is scheduled to begin previews off-Broadway at New York City Center's Stage II on May 5, 2020, ahead of an official opening on May 19 and a limited engagement through June 7, 2020.

Manhattan Theatre Club currently has the American premiere of My Name is Lucy Barton, starring four-time Tony Award nominee Laura Linney, running at its Broadway home of the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre through February 29, 2020.
