Brittany Crowell

Brittany Crowell has been creating theater since childhood. She progressed from performing in nickel-admission theater for her parents, where she would wrangle her brother to be her cast-mate for hours-long improvisations, to getting her BFA in Acting from New York University. During her time at NYU, she developed a love for production, working backstage on many shows as a stage manager, production manager, and producer. During her senior year, she served as the Managing Director of The Bower Group, a theater company she founded with her colleagues during their time at the Atlantic Acting School. That same year, Brittany also interned with Broadway Producer, Jed Bernstein at Above the Title Entertainment.

It was Jed who offered her her first position outside of school, as the Management Coordinator for the 2012 revitalization season at the Bucks County Playhouse (which reopened after closing in 2010). Following her work in Bucks County that summer, Brittany returned to New York, where she worked for producer Jill Furman, and continued to freelance as a producer, production manager and stage manager on a variety of small, grass-roots shows.

It was this love of working in production that led Brittany to her current position as the production manager at experiential theater company, Third Rail Projects, where she has worked since 2014. In addition to her work with Third Rail Projects, Brittany continues to have a love and investment in the downtown theater scene: she moved on from The Bower Group and is now Managing Director at Crashbox Theater Company, which focuses on the development of new plays by emerging playwrights; she is a co-producer of the monthly variety show Paper Kraine, and continues to freelance on theatrical projects in a variety of roles.
