You May Now Worship Meat the Eugene O'Neill Theatre



Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS presents a one night only performance of You May Now Worship Me, a collection of musical short stories featuring Tony Award nominee Sherie Rene Scott, at the Eugene O�Neill Theatre on 31 Mar 2008. The evening will benefit the Phyllis Newman Women�s Health Initiative.

You May Now Worship Me is conceived and written by Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott, featuring direction by Michael Mayer, and musical direction by Tom Kitt.

You May Now Worship Me, Scott�s collection of deeply personal stories. From her childhood in Topeka to her eventual rise to Broadway semi-star, this is her truth, her whole truth, and nothing but her truth� only better. Featuring songs made famous by such icons as Judy Garland, Rickie Lee Jones, Tom Waits, and Mr. Rogers.

Sherie Rene Scott is currently appearing as Ursula in Disney�s The Little Mermaid. Other Credits include 'Landscape of the Body' (Obie Award, Lucille Lortel Award, Drama League honor), 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations.; Drama League honor), Elton John and Tim Rice�s 'Aida' (Derwent Award, Drama League honor), 'Tommy' (Original Broadway Cast).

The Phyllis Newman Women�s Health Initiative dedicates a range of resources solely to addressing the health needs and concerns specific to women in the entertainment industry, providing direct services and financial assistance to many women who are often without health insurance.

The Initiative has helped clients confront breast, cervical and ovarian cancers; domestic violence, chemical dependency, mental health and other conditions. Over 1,800 women in the entertainment industry have benefited from social services and emergency financial assistance provided.
