World Premiere of Walter Anderson's Almost Home

The Directors Company will present the world premiere of Walter Anderson's Almost Home, directed by Michael Parva, opening at Theatre Row's Acorn Theater on 18 Sep 2014, following previews from 12 Sep, and closing on 12 Oct 2014.

Synopsis: 'In the turbulent sixties, a young Marine returns home to the Bronx, shaken but hopeful for the future. Met by a mother fighting to keep the family going and a father down on his luck, Johnny finds himself caught between his parents' dreams for his future and a corrupt police captain with plans of his own. A drama about the wars fought at home asks: when long-held secrets test a family's strength, whose dreams must be sacrificed to protect the ones we love?'

Almost Home marks Walter Anderson's playwriting debut. He is a former Marine sergeant and Vietnam veteran and has written five books. Anderson has also served as both Chairman-CEO and Editor-in-Chief for Parade Magazine.
