Will Eno's The Realistic Joneses to close on 6 July

Will Eno's play The Realistic Joneses will play its final performance at the Lyceum Theatre on Sunday 6 July 2014. The production originally opened on Broadway on 6 April, following previews from 13 March 2014.

The production features direction by Sam Gold, and stars Toni Collette (Jennifer Jones), Michael C. Hall (John Jones), Tracy Letts (Bob Jones) and Marisa Tomei (Pony Jones).

It follows Bob and Jennifer and their new neighbours John and Pony - two suburban couples who have even more in common than their identical homes and their shared last names. Their relationships with each other begins to intertwine and it becomes clear that each set of Joneses must decide between their idyllic fantasies and their imperfect realities.

The play divided critics after opening, earning a rave review from the New York Times, who said: "Plays as funny and moving, as wonderful and weird as 'The Realistic Joneses', by Will Eno, do not appear often on Broadway". The New York Theatre Guide called it "a dull tune of only a few notes played over and over again", whilst the Hollywood Reporter described it as "An acquired taste". The play failed to be nominated for the 2014 Tony Award for Best New Play, but did win the 2014 Drama Desk Award for Best Ensemble Cast. Read more reviews of the play here.
