How wonderful! Three new cast members have been announced to join Wicked on Broadway on March 7.

Tony Award nominee John Dossett joins as The Wizard, with Girl from the North Country's Kimber Elayne Sprawl as Nessarose and William Youmans as Dr. Dillamond, the role he originated when Wicked premiered in 2003.

They will respectively replace Cleavant Derricks, Mikayla Renfrow, and Clifton Davis, all of whom play their final performances on March 5.

As previously announced, Alyssa Fox and McKenzie Kurtz will also step into the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, this spring. Talia Suskauer will play her final performance as Elphaba on March 5, and Brittney Johnson will depart the role of Glinda on February 12.

Three principal cast members will continue in their roles: Michele Pawk (Dossett's wife) as Madame Morrible, James D. Gish as Fiyero, and Michael Wartella as Boq.

Wicked is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, centered on the close friendship between Elphaba and Glinda that severed when one became the Wicked Witch of the West, and the other the Good Witch. The musical plays the Gershwin Theatre.
