Whats That Smell: The Music Of Jacob Sterling to close on 28 Dec 2008

David Pittus comedy Whats That Smell: The Music Of Jacob Sterling, produced by Daryl Roth in association with Atlantic Theater Company, will end its run at New World Stages / Stage 5 on 28 Dec 2008, four weeks earlier than scheduled.

The show opened at New World Stages on 1 Nov 2008, and was scheduled to play through to 25 Jan 2009.

Whats That Smell: The Music Of Jacob Sterling transferred to New World Stages / Stage 5, following a sold-out, extended engagement at Atlantic Stage 2, where it ran from 10 Sep - 5 Oct 2008.

The new comedy, written and performed by Tony Award nominee David Pittu (Is He Dead?, LoveMusik), co-starring Peter Bartlett, is co-directed by Pittu and Atlantic Artistic Director Neil Pepe, with original music by Randy Redd.

Whats That Smell: The Music Of Jacob Sterling is a musical parody that charts the career of eternally up-and-coming (and fictitious) musical theater composer Jacob Sterling (Pittu). A rare, up close and personal visit with an artist of questionable gifts who performs from his songbook and shares his human struggle to keep musical theater alive and well into the 21st century.

Whats That Smell: The Music Of Jacob Sterling features scenic design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Matthew Richards and sound design by Jill DuBoff.
