'Toros' sets full Off-Broadway cast and creative team

Second Stage Theater's production of Danny Tejera’s Toros, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, begins July 18.

Second Stage Theater has announced the full cast and creative team for Danny Tejera’s Toros. Abubakr Ali, b, and Frank Wood join the previously announced Juan Castano. The limited-engagement production will begin at the McGinn/Cazale Theater on July 18, with an official opening on Aug. 1.

The play, which was first presented as part of the Judith Champion New Voices Reading Series in 2022, follows three international twentysomethings in Madrid figuring out their pathways in life.

The production, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, will feature scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Barbara Samuels, and sound design by Darron L West.
