The Whore of Ohio, playreading at La MaMa's Club

La MaMa E.T.C. presents a playreading of The Whore from Ohio, a black comedy by Hanoch Levin and translated by Sandra Silverston, at La MaMa Experimental Theatre's Club on 27 Jun 2006.

The Whore from Ohio: On his 70th birthday, Papaitan Sr., wishes to avail the service of a whore inorder to 'recapture his youthful vigor'. He meets Bronatsatski, who is willing to give him what he wants for a price. Due to age it is Papitian's son who in the end fulfills the deal. What will be expected of Papitian's son when, the following day, Bronatsatski swears undying love to the old man and asks him to elope with her. Will Father and son pursue the mythical whore of Ohio?

Directed by Geula Jeffet Attar, the reading is performed by Victor Attar, Zishan Ugurlu and Jonathan Slaff.
