The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun at Theatre at St. Clements

George DeMarco and David Gerard presents The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun, music & lyrics by Andy Monroe, with book & additional lyrics by Blair Fell, at the Theatre at St. Clements from 14 - 22 Sep 2006 as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun: Tells the dark, dangerous and hilarious Musical story of the ill-fated nun who sang the Grammy-winning 60s hit Dominique-Nique-Nique. Told through the eyes of a Nun named Sister Coco Callmeishmael, TheSinging Nun gazes through a pop-culture prism, pulling every candy-colored piece of Catholic Camp with a phenomenal score -- to recount Sister Smiles uproariously funny, but ultimately tragic story of sky-rocketing fame and meteoric decline. Tragic? Yes! Irreverent? Absolutely. Completely True? (sort of)!

Directed by Michael Schiralli, The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun features Kristen Beil (Maria), Randy Blair (St. Dominique et. al.), Laura Daniel (Jeanine Fou), Tracey Gilbert (Annie Nevermind), Michael Hunsaker (Father Lyon et. al.), Stephen Michael Rondel (Sister Coco), Eileen F. Stevens (Maman, Sister Beshrill) and Krsitine Zbornik (Mother Helen).

Set design by David Ripp, with costumes by Bobby Pearce and lighting by Michael O'Conner.
