The Odd Couple: Mike Starr to join cast

Mike Starr will join the cast of The Odd Couple from the 3 Jan 2006. He will be taking over the role of Murray the cop, currently played by Brad Garrett.

Mike Starr is best known as the gruff bowling alley employee Kenny on TV's Ed. He is a veteran of over 50 feature films including The Black Dahlia (to be released Spring 2006), Goodfellas, The Ice Harvest and Elvis Has Left the Building. On Broadway, he appeared in The Guys in the Truck and Requiem for a Heavyweight.

The Odd Couple opened on the 27 Oct 2005, following previews from 4 Oct, and is currently booking to the 2 Apr 2006 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

The comedy stars Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, and featured in the cast are Rob Bartlett, Olivia d'Abo, Peter Frechette, Jessica Stone, and Lee Wilkof.

The Odd Couple is about Felix and Oscar, two divorced men, decide to share an apartment, only problem is there are as different as chalk and cheese. Felix is a hyper- allergic, fanatic for organization and cleanliness, while Oscar is a cigar-smoking, compulsive slob. The characteristics that drove each of them to leave their wives soon have them at each other's throats.

The Odd Couple is written by Neil Simon and directed by Joe Mantello. The show has set design by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Ann Roth and lighting by Kenneth Posner.
