The Marvelous Wonderettes Misty Cotton to play the role of 'Missy
Misty Cotton will join the cast of The Marvelous Wonderettes on 6 Mar 2009. She assumes the role from original cast member Farah Alvin who will play her final performance on 1 Mar 2009.
Cotton originated the role of 'Missy' in Winter Wonderettes at the Milwaukee Repertory and in the West Coast premiere production at the El Portal Theatre. On Broadway she understudied the role of 'Ellen' in 'Miss Saigon' (1991).
The Marvelous Wonderettes currently features Farah Alvin (Missy), Beth Malone (Betty Jean), Bets Malone (Suzy) and Victoria Matlock (Cindy Lou).
The Marvelous Wonderettes, by Roger Bean, a musical revue written and directed by Roger Bean, choreographed by Janet Miller, opened at Westside Theatre (Upstairs) on 14 Sep 2008, following previews from 29 Aug 2008. The show is currently booking through to 13 Sep 2009.
The Marvelous Wonderettes: A journey back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where the Wonderettes - Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy - are four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. The Marvelous Wonderettes earned an Ovation Award (Best Musical in an Intimate Theatre) and LADCC Awards for best choreography and ensemble in its run at Los Angeles� El Portal Theatre.
The creative team includes Mike Carnahan (sets), Bobby Pearce (costumes), Jeremy Pivnick (lighting) and Cricket S. Myers (sound).
