The Marvelous Wonderettes as three new faces: Kirsten Bracken, Christina DeCicco and Lindsay Mendez


The musical revue The Marvelous Wonderettes welcomes its three newest Wonderettes. Kirsten Bracken joined the cast as 'Suzy' and Christina DeCicco as �Cindy Lou� on the 8 Jun 2009. Lindsay Mendez will begin as 'Betty Jean' on 14 Jun 2009.

The three newest Wonderettes will share the stage with Misty Cotton ('Missy') in this non-stop pop musical comedy written and directed by Roger Bean.

The show is saying goodbye to Bets Malone (Suzy), Victoria Matlock (Cindy Lou) and Beth Malone.

The Marvelous Wonderettes opened on 14 Sep 2009, following previews from 29 Aug 2009 at the Westside Theatre (Upstairs), where it isis currently selling tickets through to 4 Oct 2009.

Kirsten Bracken appeared as 'Lou Ann' and understudied 'Amber' in 'Hairspray' on Broadway. Other New York productions include 'Gemini: The Musical' (NYMF) and 'Life in Plastic' (American Theater of Actors).

This marks Christina DeCicco�s Off �Broadway debut. She recently appeared as 'Glinda' in the National Tour of 'Wicked' and performed the role of 'Elmire' in Dog Run Repertory�s production of Moliere�s 'Tartuffe' at South Street Seaport.

Lindsay Mendez is currently appearing in 'Everyday Rapture' at Second Stage Theatre as a 'Mennonette' to 'Sherie Rene Scott.' She was an original cast member in the recent Broadway Revival of 'Grease,' playing the role of 'Jan.'

The Marvelous Wonderettes now features Misty Cotton (Missy), Beth Malone (Betty Jean), Kirsten Bracken (Suzy) and Christina DeCicco (Cindy Lou).

The Marvelous Wonderettes, by Roger Bean, a musical revue written and directed by Roger Bean, choreographed by Janet Miller, opened at Westside Theatre (Upstairs) on 14 Sep 2008, following previews from 29 Aug 2008. The show is currently booking through to 13 Sep 2009.

The Marvelous Wonderettes: A journey back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where the Wonderettes - Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy - are four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. Songs include: 'Lollipop,' 'Dream Lover,' 'Stupid Cupid,' 'Lipstick on Your Collar,' 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,' 'It�s My Party' and 'It�s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)'

newyorktheatreguide.com's review said of the show "It's a small show, in a small theater, with a deceptively simple plot, yet it makes you feel better than "Mamma Mia!"

The Marvelous Wonderettes earned an Ovation Award (Best Musical in an Intimate Theatre) and LADCC Awards for best choreography and ensemble in its run at Los Angeles� El Portal Theatre.

The creative team includes Mike Carnahan (sets), Bobby Pearce (costumes), Jeremy Pivnick (lighting) and Cricket S. Myers (sound).
