The Madrid: further casting announced



The Manhattan Theatre Club have announced additional casting fortheir upcoming world premiere of The Madrid, by Liz Flahive ('From Up Here,' "Nurse Jackie"), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Leigh Silverman ('Chinglish,' 'From Up Here').

Joining the previously announced Edie Falco will be Tony Award nominee John Ellison Conlee (MThe Full Monty), Heidi Schreck ('Circle Mirror Transformation'), Phoebe Strole ('Spring Awakening'), two-time Tony Award winner Frances Sternhagen (The Heiress) and Christopher Evan Welch (Lincoln).

Casting for two additional roles in the production will be announced in the coming weeks.

The show will open at NY City Center Stage I on 26 Feb 2013, following previews from 05 Feb 2013, and run through 14 Apr 2013. Tickets for the show go on sale to the general public on 1 Oct 2012.

The Madrid: Martha (Edie Falco is a kindergarten teacher with a life many would want: a loving husband, a devoted daughter. But when she leaves it all behind, it's up to her daughter Sarah to pick up the pieces.

The creative team will include David Zinn (scenic design), Emily Rebholtz (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design) and Jill BC Du Boff (sound design).
