The Lion King Experience is now accessible from home
Disney Theatrical has now released its Lion King-inspired arts education program for at-home usage for free.
Looking for more ways to entertain and educate your children during the lockdown? Well, "Hakuna Matata," folks, because Disney Theatrical has got you covered!
The company is now offering a virtually accessible version of its arts education program known as "The Lion King Experience" and it is completely free of charge. The program's aim is to provide students "an immersive introduction to theater making through the lens of the Broadway production of The Lion King."
Originally designed as a classroom course for elementary and middle school students to produce a condensed, age-appropriate adaptation of The Lion King (known as The Lion King KIDS or The Lion King JR.) and follow a multi-media infused curriculum, The Lion King Experience was launched in 2015. Now, students have the opportunity to follow the step-by-step instructions and complete the experience from the comfort of their own homes.
The curriculum's intention is to develop a wide range of theatrical skills, from playwrighting and directing to aspects of theater design. It offers an 11-session course for students aged 8-11 and an 18-session course for students aged 12-15 through video instruction and written materials. For more information on The Lion King Experience and to access all of these sessions at-home, please visit www.LionKingExperience.com.
