The Lehman Trilogy begins performances on Broadway

The Broadway premiere of The Lehman Trilogy is set for an official opening at the Nederlander Theatre on March 26, 2020.

The National Theatre production of The Lehman Trilogy begins preview performances at the Nederlander Theatre tonight. The Broadway premiere is scheduled for an official opening on March 26, and a limited engagement through June 28, 2020.

Directed by Sam Mendes, the cast of The Lehman Trilogy includes Simon Russell Beale (as Henry Lehman), Adam Godley (as Mayer Lehman) and Ben Miles (as Emanuel Lehman), who are all reprising their respective roles from the 2018 National Theatre staging and 2019 West End transfer. The trio of actors play the Lehman Brothers, their sons, and grandsons between them.

Synopsis: "On a cold September morning in 1844 a young man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside. Dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is joined by his two brothers and an American epic begins. 163 years later, the firm they establish - Lehman Brothers - spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy, and triggers the largest financial crisis in history."

Simon Russell Beale's previous Broadway credits include a 2004 Tony-nominated Broadway debut in Jumpers and a stint as King Artur in Monty Python's Spamalot from 2005 to 2006In 2019, Beale was awarded a Knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the Arts.

Adam Godley's Broadway credits include his 2002 Broadway debut in Private Lives and a 2011 Tony-nominated performance in Anything Goes.

Ben Miles made his Broadway debut in The Norman Conquests trilogy in 2009, winning a Drama Desk Award for 'Outstanding Ensemble Performance.' He returned to Broadway in 2015 to star as Thomas Cromwell in Wolf Hall Parts One & Two, earning his first Tony Award nomination.

The Broadway creative team for The Lehman Trilogy features scenic design by Es Devlin, costume design by Katrina Lindsay, lighting design by Jon Clark and sound design by Nick Powell and Dominic Bilkey. Video design is by Luke Halls, music direction is provided by Candida Caldicot and movement is by Polly Bennett.

The Lehman Trilogy is produced on Broadway by The National Theatre, Neal Street Productions, Scott Rudin, Barry Diller and David Geffen.

The Lehman Trilogy Tickets are available now for performances through June 28, 2020.
