Waterwell presents The Last Year in the Life of The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a musical operetta created by Waterwell with an original score by Lauren Cregor, opening at the Barrow Street Theater on 7 Jul 2007, following previews from 21 Jun and running through to 11 Aug 2007.

The Last Year in the Life of The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,: Draws on speeches, writings and interviews to give an account of King as he barnstorms the country squaring off against the most powerful forces in politics and commerce. Facing criticism on all sides and even doubts from his closest advisors, he speaks his mind fearlessly and fights to the end against war, poverty, even his own government.

Directed by Tom Ridgely, The Last Year in the Life of The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., features Hanna Cheek, Rodney Gardiner, Arian Moayed and Kevin Townley.

Set design by Dave Lombard, with costumes by Elizabeth Payne, lighting by Stacey Boggs and sound by Jeff Devine.
