The Four of Us to star Gideon Banner and Michael Esper



Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that Gideon Banner and Michael Esper will feature in their production of Itamar Moses�s two character drama The Four of Us, directed by Pam Mackinnon.

The Four of Us will open at NY City Center's Stage 2 on 25 Mar 2008, following previews from 6 Mar and run through to 11 May 2008.

The Four of Us: When Benjamin's (Banner) first novel vaults him into literary stardom, his friend David (Esper), a struggling playwright, is thrilled for his newfound success...or is he? Should Benjamin help David by using his new connections? Can David even expect such favors from his friend? And, most importantly, who should pay for lunch?

The creative team comprises David Zinn (sets and costumes), Russell H. Champa (lighting) and Daniel Baker (sound).

Gideon Banner's credits include: New York: 'Blue Man Group' (New York, Boston, Chicago), 'Big Bill' (Williamstown, Lincoln Center), 'The Franklin Thesis' (Les Freres Corbusiers), 'I Was Tom Cruise' (Redux Productions/Fringe), Itamar Moses' 'Authorial Intent/Idea' (Manhattan Theatre Source) and 'Untitled Short Play' (Naked Angels).

Michael Esper (David): Currently in world premiere of 'Me, Myself & I' by Edward Albee at the McCarter Theater (Princeton, NJ). Previous credits include: 'Long Days Journey Into Night' (dir. Garry Hynes) with James Cromwell at the Gaiety Theater, Dublin. New York: 'Crazy Mary' (Playwrights Horizons), 'SubUrbia' (Second Stage), 'Manic Flight Reaction' (Playwrights Horizons),' As You Like It' (NYSF) and 'Big Bill' (Lincoln Center).
