The Drunken City to feature Barrett Foa and Maria Dizzia


Playwrights Horizons have announced that Barrett Foa and Maria Dizzia will feature in their New York Premiere of Adam Bock's The Drunken City, to be directed by Trip Cullman, playing at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater from 13 Mar - 20 Apr 2008, the opening date is still to be announced.

The Drunken City: On the bar crawl to end all crawls, three twenty-something brides-to-be find their lives going topsy-turvy when one of them begins to question her future after a chance encounter with a recently jilted handsome stranger.

Barrett Foa's (Eddie) Broadway credits include playing 'Leaf Coneybear' (replacement) in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2003) and 'Princeton/Rod' (repacement) in Avenue Q. Off-Broadway he starred as 'Jesus' in 'Godspell' (2000) at York Theatre at St. Peter's.

Maria Dizzia (Melissa) was recently seen off-Broadway when she originated the title role in the recent hit 'Eurydice' at Second Stage. She was a regular on the short-lived CBS series 'Smith' and has also appeared on 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent.'

Trip Cullman (Director) directed Terrence McNally�s 'Some Men' at Second Stage' earlier this year. His other off-Broadway credits include:, 'The Wooden Breeks' (2006), 'Dog Sees God' (2005), 'Swimming in the Shallows' (2005), 'Roulette' (2004), 'Last Sunday in June' (2003). He was the assistant director for Richard Greenberg's 'Take Me Out', which opened off-Broadway in 2002, before transferring to Broadway in 2003.

Adam Bock�s (Playwright) plays include 'The Thugs' (SoHo Repertory, Obie Award), 'Swimming in the Shallows' (Second Stage), 'The Shaker Chair' (Humana Festival), 'Five Flights' (Rattlestick), 'The Typographer�s Dream' (Clubbed Thumb) and The Receptionist (opening this month at Manhattan Theatre Club). Bock is the resident playwright at Encore Theater, a Shotgun Players Artistic Associate, and a member of New Dramatists.
