The Cocktail Hour at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre

Theater Breaking Through Barriers present The Cocktail Hour at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre, by A.R. Gurney, opening at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre on 6 Jun 2008, following previews from 24 May and running through to 29 Jun 2008.

The Cocktail Hour: A writer returns home to ask permission of his parents to produce a show that he has written about them. Over cocktails, the family rehashes old slights and reopens old wounds but, with humor, they look toward the future.

Directed by Ike Schambelan, The Cocktail Hour features George Ashiotis, Melanie Boland, Pamela Sabaugh and Nicholas Viselli.

The creative team comprises Bert Scott (sets & lighting) and Chloe Chapin (costume).

Theater Breaking Through Barriers integrates able bodied actors with artists with disabilities. Founded in 1979, by Co-Artistic Director Ike Schambelan, the company's mission is to change the image of people with disabilities from one of dependence to independence, to fight stereotypes and misperceptions associated with disability, and to show how vibrant, fluid and exuberant the work of artists with disabilities can be.
