The Bald Soprano at New York City Center

The Pearl Theatre Company presents Eugène Ionesco's absurdist The Bald Soprano, directed by Hal Brooks. The production marks the beginning of the company's 28th season

The show opens at NY City Center's Stage 2 on the 25 Sep 2011, following previews from 13 Sep, and runs through to 23 Oct 2011.

The Bald Soprano portrays an evening visit between Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Martin. With the Smiths' maid Mary and her lover, the fire chief, the night of nonsensical stories and poems carries the characters right back to the beginning.

The five member cast features Pearl Resident Acting Company members Jolly Abraham (Mrs. Martin), Rachel Botchan (Mrs. Smith), Robin Leslie Brown (Mary), Bradford Cover (Mr. Smith), Dan Daily (The Fire Chief), and guest actor by Brad Heberlee.

The design team includes Harry Feiner (set), Barbara A. Bell (costumes), Stephen Petrilli (lighting) and M.L. Dogg (sound).

After the The Bald Soprano, The Pearl Theatre Company's 28th season will continue with 'Richard II' in Nov 2011, 'The Philanderer' by Bernard Shaw in Jan 2012, and conclude with 'A Moon For The Misbegotten' by Eugene O'Neill in March 2012.
