The 73rd Annual Theatre World Awards

Yesterday evening, the New York Theatre Guide was invited to The 73rd Annual Theatre World Awards at Broadway's Imperial Theatre, honoring outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway debut performances.

In addition this year, Glenn Close, currently reprising her Tony-winning role of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard at the Palace Theatre, received the John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theater. Katrina Lenk, currently starring in the Broadway transfer of Indecent, following her off-Broadway turn in The Band's Visit, was honored with the Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater, whilst Dave Malloy earned a Special Theatre World Award for his efforts as writer, composer, lyricist, orchestrator and performer of Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812.
