Telly Leung returns to In Transit on Broadway
Original cast member Telly Leung returned to the role of Steven in the Broadway premiere of In Transit at the Circle in the Square last night. Colin Hanlon had temporarily stepped in to cover the role, whilst Mr. Leung had to take a leave of absence due to an unexpected personal family obligation.
Telly Leung has previously appeared on the Great White Way in 'Allegiance,' 'Godspell,' 'Pacific Overtures,' 'Rent' and 'Flower Drum Song,' and off-Broadway in Manhattan Theatre Club's 'The World of Extreme Happiness.' He starred as Angel in 'RENT at the Hollywood Bowl' and as Wes in the hit TV series "Glee."

In Transit, billed as "Broadway's First A Cappella Musical," directed and choreographed by three-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall, began previews at Broadway's Circle in the Square on November 10, 2016 and officially opened on December 11. The show is currently booking through to June 25th, 2017.
In Transit features a book, music & lyrics by Academy Award winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan & Sara Wordsworth, along with vocal Arrangements by Deke Sharon and musical supervision by Rick Hip-Flores.
Synopsis: "Featuring an a cappella score from the talents behind Frozen and Pitch Perfect, In Transit is a new, modern musical bringing to life a vivid tapestry of characters and music in the city that never sleeps...or stands still. Inspired by the vibrant rhythms of life on the subway, In Transit follows the intertwining lives of eleven New Yorkers, all hoping to catch the express train to success, love and happiness...and the stops they make along the way."
The cast of In Transit includes (in alphabetical order) David Abeles (Dave), Moya Angela (Momma/Mrs. Williams/Booth Lady), Steven 'Heaven' Cantor (Boxman), Justin Guarini (Trent), Telly Leung (Steven), Erin Mackey (Ali), Gerianne Pérez (Kathy), Margo Seibert (Jane), Chesney Snow (Boxman), James Snyder (Nate), Mariand Torres (Nina) and Nicholas Ward (Chris), with Adam Bashian, Laurel Harris and Aurelia Williams.
The creative team behind In Transit has also been announced and features scenic design by Tony winner Donyale Werle, costume design by Tony winner Clint Ramos, lighting design by Tony winner Donald Holder and sound design by Ken Travis.
In Transit, which previously staged its New York premiere at Primary Stages in 2010, is produced on Broadway by Janet B. Rosen for Six Train Productions.
