'Tam Lin: A Halloween Tale of Magic & Seduction' by N.G. McClernan, at Theater Five


Mergatroyd Productions presents Tam Lin: A Halloween Tale of Magic & Seduction, by N.G. McClernan, at Theater Five from the 8 - 30 Oct 2005.

Tam Lin is based on the Scottish folk ballad 'Tam Lin' and tells the story of Janet, the headstrong daughter of a Scottish warlord, who runs away from home to escape an arranged marriage. She ends up in the Forest of Carterhaugh, which is haunted by the ghostly young Tam Lin.

Janet meets and falls in love with Tam Lin, but must return home again when Tam Lin warns her that if the Queen of the Faeries catches them together, Janet will be in danger. Janet vows to free Tam Lin from the Queen.

Janet's only chance to free Tam Lin will come on the night of Halloween, but as Halloween approaches, she is unable to return to the Forest of Caterhaugh because her castle is under siege.

The cast for Tam Lin, directed by N.G. McClernan, features: Troy Acree, Len Childers, Christina Dunham, Mike Durell, Jason Hare, Talaura Harms, Nick Lowe, Nancy Nagrant, Skid Maher, and Randi Sobol.

The production has set design by Mergatroyd Productions, costumes by Cherie Cunningham and Carla Gant, lighting by Karen Sweeney and sound by Rich Baker.

The play is produced by Jonathan Xavier Flagg.
