The latest revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard will head to Broadway later this year, with Nicole Scherzinger reprising her role as Norma Desmond from London's West End.

Scherzinger, who is currently starring in the West End production at the Savoy Theatre, will be making her Broadway debut.

The former Pussycat Doll will star alongside three of her London co-stars, including Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett-Young as Betty Schaefer, and Olivier Award winner David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling.

London Theatre’s five-star review of the West End production reads, “Scherzinger doesn’t just handle the role, she devours it… Throughout, [director] Jamie Lloyd walks a wavering tightrope between postmodern wit, in concert with the snarky, satirical book, and visceral emotion that makes Andrew Lloyd Webber’s gorgeous score, with modified orchestrations, soar afresh. This is a Sunset Boulevard for a new generation.”

The creative team includes Soutra Gilmour (set and costume design), Fabian Aloise (choreography), Alan Williams (music supervisor and musical director), Jack Knowles (lighting design), Adam Fisher (sound design), and Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom (video design and cinematography).

Sunset Boulevard, with music by Webber and a book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, tells the story of fading silent movie star Norma Desmond. She tempts a young screenwriter, Joe Gillis, into collaborating with her on a return to the big screen, but their partnership descends into jealousy, lust, greed, delusion, and bloodshed.

Production dates, theatre, and additional casting are to be announced.
