Big news: Robert Montano's solo show SMALL will return off Broadway this summer following an acclaimed premiere in 2023. Performances are scheduled to run at the Pershing Square Signature Center from May 20 to July 25, with opening night on May 28.
SMALL, written and performed by Montano, retraces how his childhood dreams of becoming a jockey evolved into a career dancing in Broadway shows like On the Town, Cats, and Kiss of the Spider Woman opposite Chita Rivera.
The 2026 production follows a 2023 NYC run at 59E59 Theatres, which was nominated for 2024 Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Solo Performance, and multiple other engagements across the country.
Jessi D. Hill directs, and SMALL also features scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, sound design by Brian Ronan, and properties by Buffy Cardoza.
