Get ready for a moment in the woods! New York City Center has announced principal casting for its upcoming production of Into the Woods, including Tony winner Heather Headley as the Witch, Christian Borle as the Baker, Sara Bareilles as the Baker's Wife, and Ashley Park as Cinderella.

The City Center production is set to run from May 4-15, 2022.

Headley is reprising a role she first took on at The Muny in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2015. Park is rejoining Encores! after being slated to take the title role in the series's Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2020, which was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Prior to headlining Into the Woods, Bareilles will reprise the lead role in a limited engagement of Waitress on Broadway from Sept. 2 to Oct. 17. Borle will be returning to the role of Orin in Little Shop of Horrors off Broadway starting Sept. 21 before joining Into the Woods.

Encores! Artistic Director Lear deBessonet will direct. The production marks the third in the 2022 Encores! series, following The Tap Dance Kid from Feb. 2-6 and The Life from March 16-20.
Into the Woods features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine.

Tickets for Into the Woods at New York City Center will be available soon.
