Sam Shepard Festival, at the Big Little Theatre

The Michael Chekhov Theatre Company open their new space, The Little Big Theater, with a Sam Shephard Festival featuring three of Shepard�s plays. The festival will run from the 15 Mar - 10 Apr 2006

  • Buried Child.
    Synopsis: Set in a squalid farm home occupied by a family filled with suppressed violence and an unease born of deep-seated unhappiness. The family harbors a dark secret.

  • Simpatico.
    Synopsis: After two men blackmail an official 15 years ago, one has risen to wealth and power, while the other wallows in chaos and misery. The play opens as the down and out loner enacts an elaborate plan of revenge against his old partner, involving his current girlfriend, the blackmailed official, and his partner�s wife, who was curiously married to the loner 15 years ago.

  • A Lie Of The Mind.
    Synopsis: Tells the story of two families torn apart by a severe incident of spousal abuse. Exploring family dysfunction and the nature of love, the play follows Jake as he searches for meaning after his wife, Beth, struggles with brain damage.
