Roundabout Underground presents the world premiere of Exception to the Rule, written by Dave Harris and directed by Miranda Haymon, as part of Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming 2019-2020 Off-Broadway season.

Previews begin at the Black Box Theatre within the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre on April 30, 2020, ahead of an official opening on May 21 and a limited engagement through to June 28, 2020.

Synopsis: "Exception to the Rule crackles with humor and suspense—confronting the tactics for surviving institutions that were not built for you. How do you make it through detention? In the worst high school in the city, six students are stuck in Room 111. They flirt. They fight. They tease. Should they follow the rules and stay put, or find an escape? Are the walls keeping them in, or are stronger forces at play?"

Casting and additional creative team information for the world premiere production will be announced at a later date.

Roundabout Underground's next production is the world premiere of Something Clean, written by Selina Fillinger and directed by Margot Bordelon, which runs at the Black Box Theatre from May 4 through to June 30, 2019, with an official opening on May 30.
