Roundabout Theatre Company announces complete casting for the first-ever NY revival of musical comedy The Robber Bridegroom, directed by Tony nominee Alex Timbers, which begins previews on 18 February 2016 at off-Broadway's Laura Pels Theatre, before an official opening on 13 March and a limited engagement through to 29 May 2016.
Joining previously announced Broadway alum Steven Pasquale (Jamie Lockhart) will be Andrew Durand (Little Harp), Evan Harrington (Big Harp), Greg Hildreth (Goat), Leslie Kritzer (Salome), Ahna O'Reilly (Rosamund), Nadia Quinn (Raven/Goat's Mother), Lance Roberts (Clement Musgrove) and Devere Rogers (Airie/Man).
The Robber Bridegroom features a book & lyrics by Tony, Oscar & Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry, with music by Robert Waldman.
Synopsis: "Based on the short story by Southern writer Eudora Welty, The Robber Bridegroom transports the audience to the Natchez Trace in Mississippi, a dangerous and mysterious corner of the country teeming with a rogue's gallery of the most beguiling con men, hucksters, and charlatans you'll ever meet. Chief among them, Jamie Lockhart - fair-faced gentleman by day, hard-hearted bandit of the woods by night. When he falls for the beautiful daughter of a wealthy planter, his world and code of ethics are turned upside down."
This Roundabout revival features music direction by Justin Levine, choreography by Connor Gallagher, scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Darron L West.
The Robber Bridegroom is produced off-Broadway by the Roundabout Theatre Company in association with Daryl Roth Productions.
